Lansac is a French commune with 177 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the canton of Les Coteaux (until 2015: canton of Pouyastruc ).

The inhabitants are called Lansacais and Lansacaises .

Lansac is located about seven kilometers east of Tarbes in its catchment area ( Aire urbaine ) in the historic province of Bigorre .

Population development

At the beginning of the records and in the middle of the 19th century, the population rose to an initial high of around 165. Subsequently, the number of inhabitants fell with brief recovery periods until the 1950s to a low of around 90 before a growth phase began, which continues today and exceeds the previous high.
