Bouilh-Devant is a French commune with 21 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Tarbes and the canton of Val d'Adour-Rustan-Madiranais (until 2015: canton of Rabastens-de-Bigorre ).

The inhabitants are called bouilhois and bouilhoises .

Bouilh-Devant is about 19 kilometers northeast of Tarbes in the historic county of Bigorre on the northern edge of the department.

Population development

After records began, the population rose to a peak of around 185 by the first half of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to around 20 inhabitants during short recovery phases until the first decade of the 21st century, before it has since grown stabilized at this level.
