Toponymy

The Occitan name of the community is Buson. Some theories try to explain the origin of the name. Some etymologists suspect a derivation from the old Provencal boza / buza ( German  cow dung ) with the suffix -onem , another from the Gallo-Roman proper name Busius . But the name of the community probably comes from the Germanic proper name Budo with the Latin suffix -onem , from which the Gascognic suffix -on originated.

The nickname of the community is Los sarra-lèbes ( German  those who grab rabbits by the collar ). The residents were once said to be unteachable poachers. There was a large number of game in the country, with many hares which they sold to Rabastens-de-Bigorre .

Attractions

  • Parish Church of Saint-Caprais. She is the St. Caprasius , who was born in Agen and, according to Christian tradition, died a martyr in 303 . The current church building dates from the 18th century and has undergone numerous repairs and additions. However, everything points to an older predecessor. Inside the church there is an altar made of white marble from the 19th century. Behind it, on an old painting, you can see three figures, one of which may be St. Representing Caprasius.
