Juillan is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region of France . It is located in the Arrondissement of Tarbes and in the Canton of Ossun .

Juillan has 4106 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on 8.2 square kilometers and is located about five kilometers southwest of Tarbes in the Bigorre on the Échez . Route nationale 21 runs through the municipality on the western edge and the A64 autoroute to the north .

The name of the place comes from the Latin campus jullianus . It was about land owned by the Roman Colonel Jullianus.
