Mansan ( Occitan Mançan ) is a southern French municipality with 42 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the center of the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitania region .
Location and climate
The municipality of Mansan is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees at an altitude of about 225 m . The closest city of Tarbes is a good 27 km southwest. The climate is temperate to warm; Rain (approx. 810 mm / year) falls mainly in the winter half-year.

Because by the phylloxera crisis in the wine sector and the increasing mechanization of agriculture caused rural exodus , the population of the municipality continuously declined since the early 20th century.

history
The place name is first mentioned around the year 1300. From the Middle Ages until the beginning of the French Revolution , the municipality was part of the historic Bigorre province .
Attractions
The Église Saint-Martin , which is surrounded by the local cemetery and built in the late 19th century on the site of a previous medieval building, is dedicated to St. Consecrated to Martin of Tours . The timbered largely as a wooden structure belfry or -Aufsatz is of a gabled roof covered.
