Montignac ( Occitan Montinhac ) is a French municipality with 138 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Hautes-Pyrénées in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Midi-Pyrenees ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes , to the canton of Moyen-Adour (until 2015 canton of Séméac ). The residents call themselves Montignacois .
geography
Montignac is located about ten kilometers south-east of Tarbes in the historic province of Bigorre in the foothills of the Pyrenees . Montignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Angos in the north, Mascaras in the east and northeast, Fréchou-Fréchet in the east and southeast, Barbazan-Dessus in the south and Allier in the west.
