Séméac ( Occitan : Semiac ) is a French commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the Canton of Aureilhan .

Séméac has 4926 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on 6.29 square kilometers and is located between the east bank of the Adour and the Alaric Canal in the Bigorre and is an eastern suburb of Tarbes . The inhabitants call themselves Séméacais .

The Tarbes-Est junction of the A64 Autoroute is in the municipality.

There are evidence of Stone Age settlement traces, but the place Séméac is likely to have emerged only at the end of the Carolingian period. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1032.
