Odos is a French commune with 3242 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the Canton of Moyen-Adour .

history

Odos goes back to a Gallo-Roman oppidum . The castle, which belonged to the kings of Navarre , was from 1490 by Madeleine de France (1443–1495), sister of King Louis XI. Rebuilt of France , widow of Gaston de Foix (1444–1470) and mother of King Francis Phoebus of Navarre and Queen Catherine of Navarre . The poet Margaret of Navarra , sister of King Francis I of France, died here in 1549 .
