Tostat ( Occitan : Tostac ) is a French commune with 535 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the canton of Val d'Adour-Rustan-Madiranais (until 2015: canton of Rabastens-de-Bigorre ).
geography
Tostat is about 13 kilometers north-northeast of Tarbes . The Adour limits the municipality to the west. Tostat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ugnouas in the north, Bazillac in the north and northeast, Escondeaux in the east, Dours in the east and southeast, Aurensan in the south and southwest, Sarniguet in the southwest, Marsac in the west and Villenave-près-Marsac in the northwest.
