history
The name of the place is explained by the fact that it was an early settlement, a vicus , which at the time belonged to the Gallo-Roman Castrum Bigorra , but today belongs to the municipality of Saint-Lézer , which is about two and a half kilometers southwest of Vic-en- Bigorre lies. Even before the construction of the Castrum (4th century AD), the hill was populated with a fortified oppidum by the Celt-Iberians of the Bigerriones tribe .
The place was abandoned between the 9th century and the middle of the 12th century. From 1151 Vic was re-established and received self-government rights.
