Horgues ( Occitan : Horgas ) is a French municipality with 1198 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Hautes-Pyrénées in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the canton of Moyen-Adour (until 2015 canton of Laloubère ). The residents call themselves Horguais .
geography
Horgues is located about four kilometers south of Tarbes in the historic province of Bigorre on the upper reaches of the Adour River in the foothills of the Pyrenees . Horgues is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Laloubère in the north, Soues in the north and northeast, Salles-Adour in the east, Momères in the south and Odos in the west.
