Laméac is a French commune with 147 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Tarbes and the canton of Val d'Adour-Rustan-Madiranais (until 2015: canton of Rabastens-de-Bigorre ).

The inhabitants are called Laméacais and Laméacaises .

Laméac is located about 17 kilometers northeast of Tarbes in the historic county of Bigorre on the northern edge of the department.

Population development

After records began, the population rose to a peak of around 510 by the middle of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to its lowest value with 105 inhabitants, before a moderate phase, with short recovery phases until the 1980s Growth began and continues today.
