Bugs Bunny at King Arthur's Court (Original title: A Connecticut Rabbit in King Arthur's Court ) is an American cartoon television special directed by Chuck Jones from 1978, based on Mark Twain's satirical science fiction novel A Yankee at the King's Court Arthur leans against it.

In contrast to numerous other compilation television specials of the Looney Tunes productions, the film shows completely new footage that does not come from older short films. You can see Bugs Bunny , Elmer Fudd as a dragon-hunting knight , Daffy Duck as King Arthur , Yosemite Sam as Merlin and Piggy Dick as a squire . The film was renamed Bugs Bunny in King Arthur's Court for future reruns . In German he appeared on the TV station Boomerang under the title Bugs Bunny in King Arthur's court .

action

Actually on the way to Georgia , Bugs Bunny accidentally embarks on a journey through time into the medieval world of King Arthur . Immediately he must run away from a fire-breathing dragon and then deal with the knight Sir Elmer Fudd , who thinks the hare is his hunted monster. As a prisoner of Sir Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny is brought to Camelot to the court of King Arthur ( Daffy Duck ), where he is to be burned at a stake . However, he uses his knowledge from the future about the occurrence of a solar eclipse by telling the residents of Camelot that he would blow out the sun if they continued to stick to their plan to burn him. As the sky darkens, the frightened attendees believe him and so Bugs Bunny, released again, is spared this fiery fate.

Two years later, Bugs Bunny set up an armaments factory called ACME , which forges armor for animal species threatened by knights. When the fire-breathing dragon was injured by Sir Elmer Fudd in 528, a duel between the hare and the knight ensued, in the course of which only Sir Elmer Fudd and the nasty Merlin ( Yosemite Sam ) standing by his side suffered. Eventually Bugs Bunny discovers a sword stuck in a stone. When he pulls it out, the argument comes to an immediate end and he is crowned the new king by the people of the country.
