Warner Bros. Television ( WBTV ) is an American television content production and distribution company . Warner Bros. Television was formed in 1955 within Warner Bros. and is still organized as a largely independent division within Warner Bros. Entertainment , a subsidiary of Time Warner .

In 1989 Warner Communications took over Lorimar - Telepictures . Telepictures (production and distribution of television content for the syndication market) has been integrated into the distribution arm of Warner Bros. Television. The name Telepictures was revived a year later as Telepictures Productions (production of television formats for syndication) and has also been used again for the distribution department for syndication formats since the merger with Turner in 1996. Lorimar Television worked as an independent production department until 1993 and was eventually also integrated into Warner Bros. Television . In 2012, Warner Bros. Television acquired Alloy Entertainment , which specializes in books and series for teenagers and young people. On February 11, 2014, Warner Bros. Television announced that it would take over 100% of all Eyeworks television production companies in a total of 15 countries.
