Thomas Goletz

Thomas Goletz (born October 13, 1966 in Karlstadt ) is a German graphic artist , illustrator, copywriter, musician and inventor of the Diddl mouse .

Career

After graduating from high school at Johann-Schöner-Gymnasium in Karlstadt , Goletz did a practical training as a graphic artist, as he said he had already enjoyed painting during his school days. At that time he taught himself cartoon drawing and chose this branch as a profession. On August 24, 1990 he made the first drawing of the Diddl mouse. With 13 postcard designs he finally looked for a publisher. At Depesche Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG in Geesthacht , a series of 48 postcards came onto the market in early 1991. In 1992 folding cards, Christmas cards and calendars followed.

Many other popular cartoon characters come from his pen , such as B. Diddlina, Pimboli, Mimihopps, Ackaturbo, Professor Diddldaddl Blubberpeng, The Frog-Brothers, Merksmir Lettermampf, Galupy, Bibombl, Milimits and Tiplitaps. The characters became known primarily through the numerous merchandising and trend items that are manufactured and sold in the Diddl workshop.

Private life

Goletz is married and lives in Hamburg.
