The Johann-Schöner-Gymnasium ( JSG for short ) is a high school in Karlstadt, Bavaria . It was named after Johann Schöner .

The Johann-Schöner-Gymnasium was built in 1970. It is a state high school with a focus on science, technology and language. The JSG is an open all-day school .

Awards
The grammar school has been a member of the Bertelsmann Foundation's network of innovative schools since 1999 . In 2003 the school received the Education Prize of the Federation of German Industry and the Innovation Prize of the Bavarian Education Pact Foundation . Furthermore, the JSG bears the title Mint - Excellence Center , and since 2009 the title Modus-Schule of the State Institute for School Quality and Educational Research .
