Our loud home (original title: Growing Pains ) is an American sitcom that was produced by ABC from 1985 to 1992 and was first seen on German television in 1993. So far, the first season with episodes 1 to 22 and at the end of April 2011 the second season with episodes 23 to 44 have appeared on DVD in Germany.

The series revolves around the Seaver family who live on Long Island , New York . When mother Maggie decides to return to her job as a journalist, father Jason, who runs a psychotherapeutic practice at home, has to take over the child-rearing, which is not always easy for him.
The oldest son Mike, 15 years old at the beginning of the series, is a miserable student and has a lot of nonsense on his mind. He's constantly getting into trouble and keeping his parents on their toes. Carol, who is 14 at the beginning, is the exact opposite of her big brother. She is highly intelligent and is determined to have a career. The youngest son Ben is nine years old and admires his big brother Mike. Later, daughter Chrissy joins them, and towards the end of the series the Seavers also take in the street boy Luke, who, however, returns to his birth father after a while.

Trivia
- Mike actor Kirk Cameron caused some unrest on the set of Our Loud Home with his religious beliefs and strict moral standards . For example, he had actress Julie McCullough , who played Mike's fiancée, write off the series because she had posed for Playboy a few years earlier. He also complained to the president of the broadcaster ABC about what he believed to be adult topics in the series.
- From 1988 to 1990 a spin-off of our loud home with the title Chaos hoch ten (Original title: Just the Ten of Us ) was filmed, which is about the extended Lubbock family who appeared in some episodes of Our loud home .
- Mike and Carol Seaver appear in the 1990 horror comedy The Willies . The movie's protagonists are watching an episode of Our Loud Home on TV when the two characters suddenly address them directly.
- The then still unknown Leonardo DiCaprio was written into the series as the street boy Luke in order to attract more teenagers as viewers again. But since the ratings did not increase, Leonardo DiCaprio was written out of the series again by Luke returning to his biological father. A little later our noisy home was taken down.
- Kirk Cameron and Chelsea Noble , who played Mike's friend Kate , fell in love while on the set and were married in 1991. They have six children.
- The last two episodes The Last Picture Show (Part 1) and The Last Picture Show (Part 2) were released on April 25, 1992 as part of the Night of Long Goodbys at ABC along with the last two episodes of Wer ist hier der Boss? and the last episode of MacGyver premiered.

- 2000 Growing Pains - The Movie
Mike married Kate and made a career in running an advertising agency. The two are parents of four adopted children. Carol also achieved her goal and works as a lawyer. Only Ben doesn't really know what he wants to do with his life and is currently working as a pool cleaner. Little Chrissy is now a rebellious teenager. When Maggie decides to run for Congress, the whole family comes together again to achieve the ultimate goal. Carol finally finds the love of her life.
- 2004 Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers
Carol is pregnant and fears that she will not be able to reconcile her child and career. Meanwhile, Mike has the chance to work in Tokyo for a year , but doesn't know whether he can leave his wife Kate alone with their four children. In this situation, the two urgently need the help of their parents, but they are planning to move. Now the adult Seavers children try to prevent the family house from being sold through acts of sabotage.
