Tracey Gold

Tracey Gold Claire (* 16th May 1969 as Tracy Claire Fisher in New York City , New York ) is an American actress . She played her best-known role in the 1980s, in the comedy series Our Loud Home , as Carol Seaver .

Life

Tracey Gold was born Tracey Claire Fisher in New York. Her younger sister Missy is also an actress. Her mother Bonnie worked in an advertising agency. When Gold was in preschool, her mother married Harry Goldstein. Gold derived her stage name from his last name . Goldstein later became a powerful Hollywood - Agent . Gold still has three half-sisters.

In 1992 she received treatment for anorexia . Over the years, the disease has become life-threatening in her. As one of the few stars, she deals with it publicly and gives interviews about it.

Gold met her husband Roby Marshall through Joanna Kerns , with whom she is also a private friend. Marshall acted as a consultant for the 1989 film adaptation of the murder of his mother (played by Kerns), which was commissioned by his father. The two have been married since 1994 and have four sons (* 1997, * 1999, * 2004, * 2008).

Career

Her first role received Gold at the age of four for a Pepsi commercial. After that she had two small guest roles. In 1979 she played on the side of Shirley Jones , in the less successful series Shirley . She starred in Goodnight Beantown in 1983, alongside Bill Bixby .

In 1985, Gold received the role of Carol Seaver on the series Our Loud Home after the original cast failed the test audience and the role was re-cast. The series ran from 1985 to 1992. Gold became a well-known teen star. In 1988 she starred in the teen film Dance 'Til Dawn , alongside other young actors such as Alyssa Milano and Matthew Perry . Before and after her engagement with our loud home , Gold starred in many different TV films.

In 2003, Gold and Julie McCarron wrote the book Room to Grow: An Appetite for Life about her experiences in dealing with her eating disorder .

Since 2011 she has hosted a TV show in which she helps people with eating disorders with the support of professional therapists and counselors.
