Rocket Man (Alternative title: Rocket Man - The Best of All Times ; Original Title: The Best of Times ) is an American comedy film directed by Roger Spottiswoode from 1986.

Jack Dundee is a married bank clerk. When he was in high school, he made a mistake during an important football game in 1972, which is why his team lost: He dropped the crucial touchdown pass from quarterback Reno just before the end zone, so Bakersfield won. It was in this game that Taft had the first chance to win against Bakersfield since these two teams played against each other, as Bakersfield had always beaten Taft very well.

His father-in-law, sponsor of the Bakersfield team and the bank owner, often reminds Jack of his untrapped passport. Dundee also keeps thinking about the events in the past and says that he has had bad luck in life since then. Everyone in town reminds him of his "mistake" in the crucial 1972 game.

14 years later, in 1986, he organized a new game, a rematch, in order to eradicate his mistake from 1972 and to give new content to his botched life. This time the team of Jack and Reno wins, with Jack being thrown the decisive pass from quarterback Reno again in the last seconds of the game and this time catching him and thus also winning the game against Bakersfield.
