Matthew Langford Perry (born August 19, 1969 in Williamstown , Massachusetts ) is an American - Canadian actor , best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit television series Friends .

Matthew Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, the son of actor John Bennett Perry . After his parents divorced, the mother's married NBC - news anchor Keith Morrison, from this marriage Perry has five half-siblings.
