His boss forces him to join a self-help group, otherwise he is no longer allowed to go on the air. So he attends therapy sessions with Lauren Schneider, a former Weight Watchers trainer. Since he is not convinced of their qualities, he quickly takes over the management of the group therapy. He first turns the sad stories of the participants into a competition to see whose story is worse. The participants enjoy the new concept and Ryan also seems to be able to gather strength. reception
The series received mostly positive reviews, with Metacritic having a Metascore of 66/100 based on 26 reviews. David Hinckley of the Daily News wrote that the series was "perhaps the best new sitcom of the fall". The critic Hank Stuever of the Washington Post praised the staging of the show and goes on to say that "Go On" is moving quite briskly - as an NBC-flavored version of high-quality cable - Dramedys as The Big C and Enlightened - enlightenment with obstacles . She's not as good as one of them, but she has the same happy-sad aura, with just a hint of Community's absurdity to keep the speed limit up ”. The series also received five stars from Verne Gay, a critic of the Newsday newspaper . He said that "the cast is good, even excellent".
