Alloy Entertainment (formerly 17th Street Productions ) is an American book packaging and television production company . Alloy is a leading provider of so-called chick-lit novels, which are particularly aimed at teenagers and young women. These include the book series Diary of a Vampire ( Vampire Diaries ) and Die Glamor-Clique ( The Clique ). The company is based in New York City .

Alloy Entertainment also co-produced several television series such as Gossip Girl . These are all book adaptations. On June 11, 2012, Alloy Entertainment was acquired by Warner Bros. Television .
