However, when her mother dies in a seemingly tragic fire accident, she moves to live with her lovable grandmother Jane in gloomy Chance Harbor, Washington. At first she battles her newfound skills, but when she does research on her family, she finds out that her ancestors were all witches. So she decides to join the witches' circle. Through Jake (for whom she has also developed feelings) she then learns that her father was John Blackwell. This one carried dark magic, which he passed on to Cassie. Eventually she gets together with Adam, but then learns from her father that although Cassie and Adam are written in the stars, there is a curse on love. They take a magic potion that will make them forget their feelings for the other. However, this only works with Adam.

Sarah Fain , Elizabeth Craft and Andrew Miller were introduced as executive producers . Fain and Craft both worked together in Angel and Dollhouse . Miller wrote the script while Liz Friedlander directed. The shooting of the remaining twelve episodes began on July 19, 2011 in North Vancouver in the Canadian province of British Columbia and lasted until December 2011. In mid-October 2011, The CW ordered nine more episodes, so that the first season comes to a total of 22 episodes.
Due to the unconvincing audience ratings , the station announced the cancellation of the series in May 2012.

After getting into her car, it suddenly catches fire and the door no longer opens. Diana's friend Adam, with whom Cassie feels a strong bond, then saves her and drives her home. Adam follows her and shows her the power they all have by making the surrounding water float. There is almost a kiss between them. Cassie wants nothing to do with the coven and prefers to lead a normal life in Chance Harbor, so she befriends Sally Matthews. Meanwhile, Faye's grandfather Henry has come to visit unexpectedly. Ethan took him into town to tell him that Charles used magic and threatened him, but Henry has doubts because all members of the Circle were deprived of their powers after the accident. Diana, meanwhile, fears that the Circle's newfound power could spiral out of control and urges it to be closed. But Faye doesn't listen and enjoys the growth of her strength. Meanwhile, Melissa starts flirting with Nick, although Faye has advised her to stay away from him.
Meanwhile, Adam and Cassie are fighting against their feelings for each other. At the festival there is an argument between Sally and Faye, whereupon Faye unintentionally pushes her over the railing with the help of her magic and hits her on the stones below. Dawn rushes over and heals Sally with the help of her magic and the crystal she had previously received from Charles. The teenagers then come together in the boathouse and decide to come full circle based on what has happened. Henry observed the event and asks Dawn to give him the crystal. However, the latter uses the crystal against him and thus causes him a heart attack and he collapses lifeless. |
