Gale Morgan Harold III (born July 10, 1969 in Decatur , Georgia ) is an American actor . He became known for the role of Brian Kinney in the television series Queer as Folk .

Life

youth

Gale Harold was born the son of an engineer and a realtor and grew up in Decatur, near Atlanta . In addition to an older sister, he has a younger brother. He attended the public South West Dekalb High School in Decatur and the private The Lovett School in Atlanta.

After graduating from high school, he went to American University in Washington, DC on a soccer scholarship. He moved to San Francisco to study art. He earned his living with jobs, including as a carpenter and motorcycle mechanic.

Movie and TV

Harold only came to acting at the age of 28. His breakthrough came with the series Queer as Folk , in which he played the role of the homosexual heartbreaker Brian Kinney from 2000 to 2005. He then appeared in the productions Particles of Truth , Wake , Life on the Ledge , Father and Sons , Social Grace and The Unseen, among others. Harold is also active as a film producer ( Scott Walker: 30 Century Man ).

In the now discontinued FOX series Vanished , he originally belonged to the regular cast; in episode seven, the character he portrayed Agent Graham Kelton has already been shot. From 2008 to 2009 he had a role in the series Desperate Housewives . In the television series Hellcats , Harold played the role of Julian Parrish from 2010 to 2011 . From September 2011 to May 2012 he starred as Charles Meade on The CW series The Secret Circle .

Harold's German dubbing voice is mostly Karlo Hackenberger .

From November 2006 to January 2007, he played at the Laura Pels Theater on Broadway in the play Suddenly Last Summer ( Suddenly, Last Summer ) by Tennessee Williams at the side of Blythe Danner and Carla Gugino the role of Dr. Crukrowicz. Prior to that, Harold had appeared in two other plays: Uncle Bob (at the SoHo Playhouse in New York City ) and Me and My Friend (in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Theater Center).
