The American University ( AU ) is a private, Methodist university in Washington, DC , USA. In the fall of 2014 were 7,083 undergraduate students ( undergraduate students ) and 3,497 master - or Ph.D. -students (postgraduate students) enrolled (10,580 students in total). The university was founded in 1893.
