Aboubacar Ibrahim Abani

Aboubacar Ibrahim Abani (born March 16, 1962 in Zinder ) is a Nigerien diplomat .

Life

Aboubacar Ibrahim Abani did a maîtrise in public law at the University of Niamey . He joined the Nigerien Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988, where he held various functions. From 1992 to 1997 he was First Secretary at the Nigerian Embassy in Ethiopia and at the representation of his country at the Organization for African Unity in Addis Ababa . Abani then worked as the head of the consular department of the directorate responsible for foreign migrants in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On a scholarship, he attended American University in Washington, DC from 1998 to 1999 , where he completed a degree in international relations. He then worked as an office manager for multilateral legal affairs and as a technical advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and finally moved to the presidential office of President Mamadou Tandja as a diplomatic advisor . On September 8, 2005 Abani was accredited as Niger's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York . Boubacar Boureima was accredited as his successor in this office on January 10, 2012 .

Abani is married and has two children.
