Cara Silverman

Cara Ruth Silverman (born September 24, 1959 - September 22, 2014 ) was an American film editor .

Life

Even during her school days, Cara Silverman worked as a researcher for local television, often working with the people on the documentation crew, which is why she was hired as an assistant. In parallel to her political science studies at American University , which she attended from 1986 to 1989, she was already working as an assistant editor on films such as Dracula's Widow and The Prince of Pennsylvania . The last time she was the first assistant editor she worked on the film editing of Cape Fear under the guidance of Oscar winner Thelma Schoonmaker . According to the company, this was the most instructive time for Silverman to date. (it was like going to film school. It was extraordinary.) .

With films such as Blown Sideways Through Life , Crazy Party Girl and Jeffrey , she took on the responsibility of editing for the first time. When a writers' strike broke out in New York in 1998, she moved to Los Angeles , where she cut films like Head Over Head , The Super Guru and He Just Doesn't Like You .
