He happens to slip into the role of a sex guru , being inspired by the statements of the porn actress Sharonna, and makes a career as such. The enthusiastic Lexi enters into a relationship with him.

Later he falls in love with Sharonna, whom he met on a failed porn shoot and who gives him verbal tutoring on sexual matters. He kisses her after a show at the Broadway Playhouse. Reviews

Peter Travers wrote in Rolling Stone on January 24, 2003 that the film was better than the plot description would suggest. He criticized the script and praised the portrayal of Jimi Mistry.

"When Heather Graham seriously announces that the pussy is the gateway to the female soul," The Super Guru "turns into a worst-case scenario for stressed laugh muscles. And when Hollywood also imitates Bollywood, and a stuffy soiree suddenly bounces around trilling Indian songs, director Daisy von Scherler Mayer proves to be the real "Giggling Guru". "

"Perfectly cast with Hollywood vamp Heather Graham (" Austin Powers ") and Great Britain's new comedy talent Jimi Mistry as a comic screen couple, the viewer can expect a mercilessly weird parody of the neurotic high society New Age generation - with sharp gags, wise sayings , multicultural touch and unrestrained dance interludes according to Ramus' motto: "Dancing is like making love. Move your feet after the beating of your heart!" "

- kino.de

"A love story that is as simple as it is touching, carried by charming actors and the heartfelt figure drawing."

“It's not quite enough for a biting satire about the esoteric mania and the American dream. But it's always entertaining. Mild enlightenment fun with a lot of heart. "
