Jimi Mistry (* 1973 in Scarborough , England ) is a British actor .

Life and accomplishments

Jimi Mistry's father is Indian and his mother is from Ireland . Mistry graduated from the Birmingham School of Speech & Drama . He made his debut with a minor role (as the second seaman ) in the drama Hamlet (1996) by and with Kenneth Branagh . In 1999 he appeared in the play East is East and in the comedy film of the same name, which received four BAFTA nominations and numerous other awards. From 1999 to 2000 he played in the television series EastEnders the role of Dr. Fred Fonseca .

In the drama My Kingdom (2001) Mistry appeared on the side of Richard Harris . In the comedy The Super Guru (2002) with Heather Graham and Marisa Tomei he took the lead role, in the comedy The Truth About Love (2004) he played one of the bigger roles alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt . In the comedy Touch of Pink (2004) he played the lead role, in another role Kyle MacLachlan appeared.

Mistry has been married since 2001 and has one daughter.
