action

Eight applicants for a position at a reputable company wait for their recruitment test in a room with multiple desks. In front of each candidate is a piece of paper with the label "Candidate" and a number from one to eight. The examiner explains the rules to you: You have exactly 80 minutes to answer a single question. Anyone who tries to speak to the examiner or the security guard present in the room, or who damages his paper, will be disqualified immediately. The examiner leaves the room and time begins.

It turns out that the backs of the sheets are blank. A candidate is immediately led out of the room by the security guard when she tries to write something on her sheet of paper. Another candidate eventually takes the initiative and starts talking to the others. First, he gives each applicant a nickname: he calls himself White , his competitors Black , Brown , Blonde , Brunette , Dark and Deaf . The latter does not take part in any conversation and just stares apathetically at his sheet of paper. The examinees try unsuccessfully to use various means at their disposal to make any secret writing visible on the paper. White becomes the leader of the group, but increasingly works against his competitors. His behavior initially leads to the departure of the candidates Brunette and Deaf .

In the course of the plot, the viewer learns that a pandemic broke out and that many people are dependent on a drug that is sold by the company. Black sees White as a threat to the group and incapacitates him. The situation escalates further when Brown tortures Dark because he falsely suspects her to be an informer of the company. It turns out that White suffers from the disease. When he has cramps, Dark asks the absent examiner for help and is then disqualified. White has the drug with him and gets it from Blonde , which Brown tries to prevent first. White believes the test is to be the only one left in the group. Using the guard's pistol, he wants to force those present to leave the room. He succeeds in doing this with Brown ; Blonde pretends to want to leave the room, but turns off the light, whereupon Black attacks. Here is Black of White shot down. Time is running out and White calls out to the examiner that he is the best for the job. Not knowing that Deaf had tampered with the clock and the time has not yet run out, he too is led out of the room.

Blonde takes the previously neglected glasses Deaf left in the room and looks through them at the paper. In fact, she recognizes a small text: "Question 1." (in German: Question 1. ). Blonde realizes that this is the only question that the examiner asked at the beginning: “Any other questions?” . The examiner and Deaf have now entered the room. She answers with "No" , which corresponds to the answer she was looking for. Deaf is, in truth, the CEO of the company and the inventor of a new cure that not only fights the virus, but is something of a panacea . The bullet that injured Black contained this agent; the wound is almost healed and Black survived. With the drug's upcoming release, the company needs a new employee who can combine, be attentive, and show compassion. Blonde has passed, agrees and is employed.
