Karl Josef von Gatterburg
Karl Josef Graf von Gatterburg (also Karl Josef Graf Gattermayer von Gatterburg, born July 31, 1775 in Retz , † September 12, 1827 there ) was an Austrian nobleman, major and knight of the Maria Theresa Order.
Karl Josef was the son of Prokopp Anton Graf von Gatterburg and Maria Anna Countess von Vetter. Karl graduated from the Theresian Military Academy in Wr. Neustadt and became major in the General Staff in 1805. For his services in 1809 and his courage at Jedlinsko, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Maria Theresa Order , and in 1811 he became kk chamberlain. In 1812 he retired, but fought again in 1813 near Naumburg. In 1816 he was finally retired.
