Bruce Green

Bruce Green (* in New York City ) is an American film editor .

Life

After his short stint at Bard College , Bruce Green visited the California Institute of the Arts after a long wandering through the USA , where he studied painting and film. However, he was only able to visit this because he had an animated film that he made during his time at Bard College as a reference . His studies lasted about three years, which he completed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts . But it took countless interviews and several bad jobs before Green decided to work as a freelancer for special effects . During some jobs he met the cameraman Haskell Wexler , for whom he worked as an assistant in some commercials. From there, Green managed to work as Mort Tubor's assistant editor on the film Cannonball ; so began his career in the field of film editing . Just one year later, in 1977, he was responsible for editing the special effects for Star Wars . Green got the job because George Lucas founded Industrial Light & Magic in 1975 and recruited many Cal Arts alumni. After Green assisted Michael Kahn in editing the films of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, his recommendation in 1985 gave him his first independent edit for Friday the 13th - A New Beginning .

Since editing The Bride Who Don't Dare , Green has been editor of Garry Marshall on several projects . So he edited films for him like Princess Suddenly , Georgia's Law and Valentine's Day . He also edited for Mark Waters in addition to Freaky Friday - A completely crazy Friday also As long as you are there and The Womanizer - The night of ex-girlfriends .

Bruce Green is a member of the American Cinema Editors . After being briefly elected vice president of the, he reactivated the internal newspaper Editors Guild Newsletter .
