Mark Stephen Waters (born June 30, 1964 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American director .

Life

Mark Waters made his debut as a director in 1997 with the dramatic comedy Who's Afraid of Jackie-O.? , for which he had also written the script. In 2001 he shot head over heels with Freddie Prinze Jr. in the lead role.

He had his greatest success so far with the comedy Freaky Friday , in which Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis played the leading roles. A year later he made another film with Lindsay Lohan, the comedy Girls Club - Be careful! . In 2005 he made the bestselling film As long as you are there with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo .

Mark Waters is the brother of screenwriter Daniel Waters . He has been married to actress Dina Spybey since November 10, 2000 .
