Daniel Waters

Daniel Waters (born November 30, 1962 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American screenwriter and director . He is the older brother of Mark Waters .

Life

Waters starred in the television series Beyond Our Control at the age of six . He was best known in 1989 for the script for the teen comedy Heathers , for which he received the Edgar Award in 1990 . For the next four years he co-wrote The Adventures of Ford Fairlane . He wrote the scripts for Batman Returns , Hudson Hawk, and Demolition Man . In 2001 Waters began working as a director with the comedy film Happy Campers . In Sex and Death 101 it came back to the collaboration with the actress Winona Ryder , with whom he had already worked in Heathers . Waters received the Golden Space Needle Award for best director at the 2007 Seattle International Film Festival for this film .
