action

Debuting writer Harper Stewart, whose novel Unfinished Business is due to be published shortly, lives in Chicago . Stewart travels to New York City , where his friend Lance Sullivan is supposed to marry. There he also meets his old college friends. Stewart's current girlfriend, Robin, wants to be late for the wedding.

A college friend of Stewart and Sullivan's, Jordan Armstrong, gets her hands on an advance copy of the unpublished novel and tries to get an exclusive interview for publication. She recognizes real people in it, namely herself, Stewart, Sullivan and his fiancée Mia. As soon as Sullivan learns that his fiancée Mia and his best friend Harper Stewart had an affair during college, he goes mad and beats Stewart on the bachelorette party. He wants to throw Stewart off a high-rise; the guests at the bachelorette party have a hard time dissuading Sullivan. Then Sullivan announces that the wedding is over. After these events, Stewart goes to Jordan Armstrong for a lunchtime, which never happened in college, but the two argue.

Robin who has arrived feels betrayed when she learns of the planned romp and wants to return immediately. She demands that Stewart get Sullivan to get married after all. He appears in the church for the wedding date, but only wants to announce his decision personally. Stewart asks the religious friend to pray with him. Sullivan first cites a passage in the Bible that forbids adultery. Later he was persuaded to marry and said in a self-formulated oath that the last few events had made him a better person .

At the wedding reception, Robin tries to get hold of the bouquet that Mia has thrown. Stewart makes her a marriage proposal, which she accepts.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was a “small film, exclusively with black actors, which once more describes that men and women do not really fit together, but need each other” . He tells a “rather one-dimensional story about love and loyalty and the importance of friendship and forgiveness” .
