Monica Calhoun

Monica Calhoun (born July 29, 1971 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

The actress made her debut on the side of Kathleen Quinlan in the television drama Children of the Night from 1985. In the comedy Out of Rosenheim (1987) she played one of the bigger roles on the side of Marianne Sägebrecht , CCH Pounder and Jack Palance . In 1989, 1992 and 1995 she appeared on the television program CBS Schoolbreak Special , for which she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award in 1993.

Her role with Taye Diggs , Nia Long and Morris Chestnut in the comedy The Best Man (1999) earned Calhoun an Image Award nomination in 2000 . Her role in the thriller Tödliches Trio - Verführung zum Sex (2002) won her a prize at the American Black Film Festival in 2002 and a nomination for the Black Reel Award in 2003 . She took on one of the leading roles in the Western Gang of Roses (2003). She was nominated again for the Black Reel Award in 2005 for the role in the film drama Justice (2004) .
