Carol Christine Hilaria Pounder (born December 25, 1952 in Georgetown , Guyana ) is an American  film and television actress .

life and work

She made her film debut in the award-winning film Behind the Spotlight (All That Jazz) . After that she had minor supporting roles in many other successful films.

Foremost, Pounder has always focused on her career as a television actress. Since the early 1980s, she has had a number of guest appearances on the Hill Street Police Station and other hit series such as Miami Vice , LA Law - Star Lawyers, Tricks, Trials , The X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases, and Back to the Past . She became internationally known as Marianne Sägebrechts co-star in Out of Rosenheim . From 1994 to 1997 she was then engaged for a longer period of guest appearances in the series Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme . This engagement was followed by small guest appearances, such as in Practice - Die Anwälte or Law & Order: Special Victims Unit .

From 2002 she played a leading role alongside Michael Chiklis and Glenn Close in the television series The Shield, which was often criticized for its open display of violence . From 2009 to 2014, Pounder played with a recurring supporting role in the series Warehouse 13 . Since September 2014, it is in the Navy CIS - a spin-off NCIS: New Orleans seen in a lead role as Loretta Wade.
