Michael Chiklis , actually: Michael Charles Chiklis (born August 30, 1963 in Lowell , Massachusetts ) is an American actor of Greek descent.

Life

Chiklis, born in Lowell in 1963, made his film debut in Wired , in which he played John Belushi . After that, Chiklis appeared on a number of series including Miami Vice , LA Law - Star Attorneys, Tricks, Litigation , and Seinfeld .

From 1991 to 1995 he played the title role in The Police Chief ( The Commish ). Chiklis changed his role profile through physical training. While he acted with a plump figure in The Police Chief , he has now acquired an athletic body stature. From 2002 to 2008 Chiklis played the lead role in the crime series The Shield - Law of Violence , which he partially co-produced and which he occasionally directed.

In 2005, Chiklis was seen in the movie Fantastic Four in the role of Ben Grimm or The Thing , which according to his own account has been his dream role since early childhood. For the sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer , which came out in theaters in 2007, he could be won again.

Awards

In 2003, Chiklis received an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for his role as Detective Vic Mackey in the television series The Shield in the category for Best Actor in a Series - Drama . In 2004 and 2005 he was nominated again for a Golden Globe Award in the same category.
