Kystlink was a Norwegian shipping company that operated two ferry lines between the Danish city of Hirtshals and the Norwegian Langesund (since 2002) and Langesund and the Swedish port of Strömstad (since November 2006). On October 21, 2008, the ferry service was stopped due to financial difficulties.

Between 1998 and May 2005, Kystlink made a name for itself primarily as a "trucker ferry" that transported trucks between Denmark and Norway at low cost. Cars and mobile homes played a subordinate role.

As a replacement for the “Boa Vista” from 2004 the “Envoy” was used. In May 2005, Kystlink chartered the "Alkmini A" from the Greek shipping company GA Ferries, which operated between 1983 and 1996 as "Stena Jutlandica" between Gothenburg and Frederikshavn and between 1996 and 2004 as "Stena Empereur" or "Pride of Provence" between Calais and Dover was employed. The "Alkmini A" was installed between Hirtshals and Langesund under the marketing name "Pride of Telemark". In October 2005 the ship was registered for Kystlink and officially renamed "Pride of Telemark"; later the ship sailed under the Norwegian flag.

On September 11, 2007 the “Pride of Telemark” ran after a power failure in the port of Hirtshals, unable to maneuver onto the pier. The underwater hull was damaged in the collision. The ferry just got as far as the Color Line jetty , where the forecastle ran aground. 150 passengers and 64 crew members were on board. The ship was evacuated, no one was injured. Until the leak in the “Pride of Telemark” was sealed, 30,000 liters of water were pumped out every minute.

"Kongshavn" in Strömstad

On September 13, 2007, the cars and trucks still on board were brought off the ferry. The ship was then towed from the Color Line jetty to another berth, where it was makeshift repairs and waited until September 25, 2007 for transfer to the shipyard. The damage investigation finally took place in the Cityvarvet in Gothenburg. There the ship was declared a total loss, but from November of that year it was repaired in Frederikshavn for around 10 million euros. Kystlink found what they were looking for a replacement ship in order to be able to resume ferry traffic at short notice. The "Fantaasia", previously in the service of the Estonian shipping company Tallink , could be chartered and had been in use since December 2007. In spring 2008 the ship was bought and used under the name Kongshavn .

The shipping company ran into financial difficulties in autumn 2008 and announced on October 3, 2008 that the ferry service would be discontinued on October 31, 2008, unless a new investor was found willing to invest around six million euros . On October 20, they announced the cessation of ferry operations on October 21, as no investor could be found.

On July 2nd, 2009 the Norwegian newspaper " Fædrelandsvennen " reported that the newly founded Danish shipping company Thyferries chartered the ferry " Pride of Telemark " from the Kystlink parent company Boa RoRo A / S ( Taubåtskompaniet A / S) from 2010 to 2014, to use her from around May 2010 on the ferry passage Hanstholm-Kristiansand. Due to a lack of funding, it was not sold, so that the ship, which was laid up in various Norwegian ports after being repaired , was sold in autumn 2011 to be scrapped in Alang .
