The Pride of Telemark was a ferry that last operated for Kystlink .

history

The ship was built as the Stena Jutlandica for Stena Line . The launching of the ship on December 22, 1980. On March 31, 1983 were delivered to the ship Stena Line and until June 1996 between Gothenburg and Frederikshavn used.

From the end of June to the beginning of August 1996, the ship was rebuilt at the Lloyd shipyard in Bremerhaven and then used as the Stena Empereur between Dover and Calais . From March 1998 the ship sailed for P&O Stena Line and was renamed P&O SL Provence in November of that year , then in mid-October 2002 in PO Provence and in February 2003 then in Pride of Provence .

At the end of October 2004 the ship was sold to GA Ferries in Greece and rebuilt in Piraeus in early 2005 . It was used as the Pride of Telemark for Kystlink between Langesund and Hirtshals or Langesund and Strömstad from mid-2005 .

In 2010 the ship was to be sold to the Danish shipping company Thyferries , which wanted to use it on the Hanstholm - Kristiansand route until 2014. The sale failed. The ship was in different Norwegian ports launched and finally to a in August 2011 Indian sells scrap yard. In September of that year it was transferred to Alang for demolition. There the ship was put on the beach on October 27, 2011.

Incidents

On April 18, 2003, the ship collided with a pier in Dover .

On September 11, 2007 there was a power failure on the ship and the maneuverable ship collided with a pier in Hirtshals. The underwater hull was damaged. From the end of November it was repaired in Frederikshavn for around 10 million euros. The Fantaasia was chartered by Tallink as a replacement ship and used from December 2007.
