history
The Stena Danica was laid on May 1, 1980 under the hull number 309 at Ch du Nord et de la Méditerranée in Dunkerque and was launched on August 30, 1980. The completion was delayed due to technical problems, the delivery to the Stena Line therefore took place on February 10, 1983. It has been in service in the ferry service from Gothenburg to Frederikshavn since February 28. Previously, three other ferries under the name Stena Danica had already been used on this route since 1965 .
From December 2002 to February 2003, the Stena Danica received a new restaurant and an additional lounge during a renovation in Gothenburg. On October 10, 2007, the ship collided with the Silvia Ana L ferry at the Orskov Yard repair yard in Frederikshavn , but both ships were only marginally damaged.
In February 2009, another modernization of the Stena Danica took place in the Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven .
