National Defense University
The National Defense University ( NDU ; German National Defense University ) is the center for military training ( Joint Professional Military Education , JPME) of the United States in Washington, DC
The main NDU campus is located at Fort Lesley J. McNair , where the Anacostia River meets the Potomac River . Every year 1,000 students are trained and 550 MA degrees are awarded. Most students are between 40 and 45 years old and have around 20 years of military experience. In addition to some government employees, NDU admits eight people from industry every year. The annual budget in 2003 was 108 million US dollars. The current president of the NDU is United States Navy Vice Adm . Ann E. Rondeau .
