Joachim Prinz (economist)

Joachim Prinz (* 1971 ) is a German economist. In the summer semester of 2009, he held the substitute professorship for business administration with a focus on personnel management at the University of Passau .

Life

From 1993 to 1999, Prinz studied economics at the University of Trier , the Copenhagen Business School and the American University in Washington DC. In July 2003 he completed his doctorate with a sports economics thesis on the remuneration of basketball players, in October 2008 the habilitation with the working title "Incentives in Organizations ". In the spring of 2009 he moved to the University of Passau , where he took over the representation of the chair for business administration with a focus on human resource management. A year later he moved to the University of Duisburg Essen , where he is now professor for general business administration at the Mercator School of Management.

Prinz is a reviewer for the Journal of Sports Economics, the European Journal of Sports Management Quarterly, the Zeitschrift für Arbeitsmarktforschung and the Zeitschrift für Hochschulmanagement.

As an enthusiastic sports economist, he is also privately active: In 2018, he competed at the Ironman in Hawaii and finished 804th.
