Valentine Moghadam

Valentine M. Moghadam (* 1952 in Tehran ) is an Iranian-American sociologist and feminist .

Life

Moghadam studied sociology in Canada and the USA. She then received her PhD in 1986 from the American University in Washington, DC

Until June 2005 she was Professor of Sociology at Illinois State University . Her work there focused on gender and global economy , women and social change in the Islamic world.

Valentine Moghadam has written numerous books on Iranian feminism, but also on feminism in other Islamic countries.
