Nizar Madani

Nizar bin Obaid Madani ( Arabic نزار بن عبيد مدني), (* 1941 ) is a Saudi Arabian politician and Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia .

Life

Madani was born in Saudi Arabia in 1941. After finishing school, he studied economics and political science at Cairo University . In 1964 Madani finished his studies in Egypt. Then Madani studied until 1971 a master's program at the American University in Washington, DC There he wrote his Ph.D. on " The Islamic Content of Saudi Arabia's Foreign Policy: King Faisal's Call for Islamic Solidarity, 1965-1975 ".

In 1965 Madani was hired as an attaché at the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry and worked at the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington. In his work, he represented Saudi Arabia in the following years at international conferences of the United Nations and the Arab League . He was appointed to the Shura Council in 1993 and 1997. Since 1997 Madani has been Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia.
