Robert Mooneyhan "Robin" Tallon Jr. (born August 8, 1946 in Hemingway , Williamsburg County , South Carolina ) is an American politician . Between 1983 and 1993 he represented the state of South Carolina in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Robin Tallon attended Dillon High School until 1964 . He then studied for two years at the University of South Carolina in Columbia . In 1994 he graduated from American University . Tallon ran a chain of clothing stores after graduating. He also worked in the real estate industry.

Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . From 1979 to 1980 he was a member of a presidential working group ( White House Conference on Small Business ). From 1980 to 1982 he was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives . In 1982 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the sixth electoral district of South Carolina , where he succeeded the defeated Republican John Light Napier on January 3, 1983 . After four re-elections, he was able to complete five legislative terms in Congress by January 3, 1993 . There he was temporarily a member of the Agriculture Committee and the committee that dealt with the merchant marine and fisheries. He also served as the chairman of the tourism committee.

In 1992 Tallon renounced another candidacy for Congress. Today he is on the board of directors of a consulting firm based in Washington.
