The South Carolina House of Representatives ( South Carolina House of Representatives ) is the lower house of the South Carolina General Assembly , of the Constitution of the US state of South Carolina for the legislation provided and bicameral Parliament . The second chamber is the South Carolina Senate , the House of Lords. The House of Representatives has 124 members who are elected every two years. The elections will take place at the same time as the elections to the United States Congress . In contrast to many other parliaments, MPs do not sit together in parliament according to party affiliation. Instead, the seating arrangement is structured according to the constituencies ( counties ) represented.

The House of Representatives boardroom is shared with the Senate in the South Carolina State House in the capital, Columbia .
