The Idaho House of Representatives ( Idaho House of Representatives ) is the lower house of the Idaho Legislature , the Legislature of the State of Idaho .

The parliamentary chamber consists of 70 members, with two members representing each electoral district. The MPs are each elected for two-year terms. The House of Representatives boardroom, along with the State Senate, is located in the Idaho State Capitol in the capital Boise .

Structure of the chamber

Speaker of the House is the Speaker (English speakers ), who is first elected by the majority faction of the chamber before the confirmation follows from the whole Parliament. He is also responsible for the legislative process and oversees appointments to the various committees. The speaker has been the Republican Scott Bedke since 2012 (as of August 2016).

Other important office holders are the majority leader and the opposition leader ( minority leader ), who are elected by the respective parliamentary groups. Majority leader of the Republicans is Mike Moyle , minority leader of the Democrats is John Rusche (as of August 2016).
