Drew Howard Wrigley (born October 10, 1965 in Bismarck , North Dakota ) is an American politician . Between 2010 and 2016 he was lieutenant governor of the state of North Dakota.

Career

Drew Wrigley grew up in Fargo , where he attended high school. He then studied economics at the University of North Dakota . After studying law at American University and being admitted to the bar in 1991, he began to work as a lawyer. Between 1993 and 1998 he served as the assistant district attorney in Philadelphia . After returning from Pennsylvania , he was on the staff of Governor John Hoeven in 2000 and 2001 . He then served as a federal attorney for North Dakota between 2001 and 2009 . Politically, he belongs to the Republican Party .

In 2010, Governor Hoeven was elected to the US Senate . With that, his lieutenant governor Jack Dalrymple fell to the highest state office in North Dakota. This appointed Drew Wrigley as his successor as Lieutenant Governor. He held this office after being re-elected from 2012 to 2016. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In the meantime he toyed with the idea of ​​running for the office of governor of his state, which he rejected again. In 2016, Brent Sanford was elected to succeed him, who took over from Wrigley on December 10 of that year.
