Rosemarie Myrdal

Rosemarie Myrdal (born May 20, 1929 in Minot , North Dakota ) is an American politician . Between 1993 and 2000 she was lieutenant governor of the state of North Dakota.

Career

Rosemary Myrdal graduated from Fargo Central High School and then studied at the North Dakota Agricultural College until 1951 . She later embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1985 and 1992 she was a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives .

In 1992 she was elected lieutenant governor of North Dakota alongside Ed Schafer . She held this office after re-election between 1993 and 2000. She was Deputy Governor and Chairwoman of the State Senate . After the end of her time as Lieutenant Governor, Myrdal became involved in several organizations in the fields of health, education and tourism. With her husband John, who has since died, she had five grown-up children.
